Surpass 12.19 Pre-Release Webinar

By 18 June 2019December 16th, 2019Pre-Release Webinar

The latest release of Surpass includes some fantastic new features to help your organisation with assessment design and delivery. In this pre-release webinar, join Jack Hobson and Nathan Driver from the Surpass training team as they introduce and demonstrate upcoming features for creating better exams in the most efficient way possible.

Topics Covered

Item Templates (0:52)

Jack and Nathan begin with an overview of the new template functionality in Surpass. It is now possible to create either full item templates, or component templates for Item Authors to use when creating items which have common elements. This is a great time-saver for authors who won’t have to create the same content again and again, and also minimises any risk of authoring errors.

Enhanced Spreadsheet Import (16:09)

The item import spreadsheet has been enhanced to give greater flexibility over what can be imported. New additions include the ability to import item sets, information pages and essay questions. Support has also been added to import custom tags in addition to the default tag groups.

Enhancements to ‘Tasks’ (27:32)

With further enhancements to ‘Tasks’ it is now possible to add up to 30 attachments to a task for assignees to download and access. This is a useful way of providing documents, such as authoring guidelines, in a central place for everyone to access. It is also now possible to add multiple ‘lead assignees’ to a Task.

Item Duration (36:09)

A new setting in Item Authoring allows you to specify how long candidates can spend on an individual item within a test. The candidate is automatically moved to the next question once the set duration ends.

Media Player Enhancements (43:09)

New settings give control over how media plays in test delivery. For example, you can have the media begin as soon as the item loads, hide the player controls from the candidate, or choose to hide the question stem and answers until media has finished playing. You can also limit the number of times media can be viewed.
