Surpass 12.16 Pre-Release Webinar

By 16 October 2018January 7th, 2020Pre-Release Webinar

In this webinar, Ben Brady and Georgie Page discuss some of new and innovative features added to Surpass over the last few months that can help the Surpass Community with assessment design and delivery.

Topics Covered

Likert Survey Item type & Improved MCQ survey item (1:22)

Gather more detailed feedback from candidates with the new Likert survey item type. Candidates can respond to statements on a scale, for example, from ‘strongly agree’ to ‘strongly disagree’, to give you a better understanding of candidates’ thoughts and provide more useful feedback. Use the ‘Single’ mode to provide candidates with one statement, or the ‘Matrix’ mode to present up to twenty statements in a grid.

You can now also provide a free text answer box for candidates when creating a Multiple Choice survey question. This allows candidates to provide further information when they select an answer option.

Move items between subjects (7:10)

Building on the existing functionality which allows you to easily move items from one folder to another, you can now move items in bulk between subjects. This creates more efficiency for item authors, meaning that items are not duplicated or do not have to be re-authored in order to move them to a different subject.

Advanced Short Answer item (17:13)

The Short Answer item type has been enhanced with a new ‘advanced’ mode for HTML delivery. This new mode allows you to give candidates multiple text fields to complete within a single question.

Enhancements to bulk scheduling (25:30)

The bulk scheduling functionality is already a great time-saver, but we’ve now introduced to ability to schedule up to 3000 candidates across multiple test centres. In addition to this, details of the scheduled tests, including candidate keycodes, can be extracted in a .csv file.

End of section feedback

For tests delivered in the HTML test driver, there is now the option to enable end of section feedback. This means that candidates can see a summary of their performance as they complete a section, rather than waiting until the reach the end of the test.
