The annual Surpass Conference, a long-established event that brings together Surpass users to collaborate, share and interact directly with all levels of the company, has been victorious at this year’s UK Business Awards, taking gold in the “Best Online Event” category. The award was presented to BTL Group Ltd, the UK-based office and primary team behind the conference, acknowledging the amazing resilience and ingenuity put into delivering its first virtual conference in the wake of challenges posed by the COVID pandemic.
The Surpass Conference is an annual event for the global Surpass Community, with the aim of bringing assessment experts together to attend presentations and workshops from industry thought-leaders, share experiences and ideas on testing technology, and network with others in the sector.
Due to COVID, plans for the 2020 in-person event had to be changed drastically, but despite the challenges there was an opportunity to take a well-established conference to the next level. Delivering such a large event virtually for the first time required creativity and innovation. The Surpass team successfully delivered the event over 3 days, with a live broadcast from hosts in the UK and USA offices simultaneously. There were workshops, group discussions and presentations from an excellent lineup of speakers, including guests from Microsoft and the World Bank.
