Website accessibility statement

Committed to inclusivity

At Surpass Assessment, our mission is to improve the assessment experience for everyone. With this in mind, we aim to provide a website that is user-friendly and inclusive to as many people as possible, regardless of ability.

If you need information on this website in a different format like accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille please contact marketing@surpass.com. We will consider your request and get back to you within 10 working days.

Our efforts to improve accessibility

  • Surpass aims to make this website accessible to WCAG 2.1 AA standard, in accordance with the UK’s ‘Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.’
  • Our team has undergone accessibility training to better understand the needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • We conduct accessibility testing to identify areas for improvement.
  • We implement necessary changes, and/or provide feedback to third-party developers.

Accessible features

On the surpass.com website, you should be able to:

  • Navigate most of the website using only a keyboard.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts.
  • Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • View the browser in a one column format (1280px browser width) and zoom-in to 400%.

We also strive to make the website text as simple as possible to understand, with descriptive hyperlink text and a logical page structure with proper heading tags to enhance the browsing experience for all users.

Known accessibility issues

We are aware that currently the website does not meet all requirements of the WCAG 2.1 AA standard and is not yet compliant.

  • Some of the interactive elements on the site may be difficult to use with screen reading software.
  • The contact forms may be difficult to use for those with low vision.
  • Some of our PDFs do not meet accessibility standards, however this information is also offered in HTML format.

The full technical report about this website’s accessibility is available on request.

Please note that while we make every effort to ensure accessibility on our website, most accessibility issues listed above come from third-party plugins or applications integrated into our site. These plugins are developed by external parties, and we rely on their support and updates to address any issues. We strive to collaborate with third-party developers to ensure they are aware of any accessibility issues that may arise and work closely with them to encourage improvements.

We’ve assessed the cost of fixing the issues ourselves and believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations from the UK’s ‘Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018’. This is reviewed annually.

Ongoing improvements and feedback

Our efforts to improve accessibility on our website are ongoing. If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact marketing@surpass.com. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue to work towards an inclusive online environment.
