Surpass Community member, AGMT, maintain their ISO/IEC: 17024 accreditation after switching from in-person testing to remote proctoring

Exton, PA, USA, 25 August 2020 – BTL Surpass Inc. is pleased to share that Surpass Community member, AGMT, has received approval for the administration of their online-proctored certification exam after undergoing a rigorous evaluation process. The online proctoring process was evaluated in accordance with the ISO/IEC: 17024 standard, a globally accepted benchmark for organisations operating personnel certification programmes.

ANAB (formerly ANSI) accreditation is a symbol of excellence, recognised worldwide by employers and industry leaders, and provides recognition that the credential holder has undergone a valid, fair and reliable assessment to verify that they have the necessary competencies to perform a specific job role.

The AGMT knowledge-based examination, formerly only available in a classroom setting, uses online proctoring as a secure and convenient option for candidates to continue the certification process as COVID-19 restrictions continue. AGMT may continue to offer this method of delivery even when restrictions ease as an alternative to in-person testing.

Delivery via remote proctoring will also strengthen the reach of AGMT programme, and their goal of recognising capable and competent glaziers, regardless of physical location. The Surpass online proctoring solution uses the candidate’s own readily available webcam and smartphone camera to provide a dual-view of activity and the candidate’s environment throughout the test, as well as screen capture to maintain full exam security.

AGMT have chosen to utilise test development and maintenance psychometric services provided by Surpass Community partner organisation Dainis & Co. for the creation of on-screen items and tests in Surpass.

Terry Schaefer, AGMT Certification Manager commented:

“Leveraging BTL Surpass’s expertise in the online test administration arena, and their easy-to-adapt test platform has allowed us to quickly pivot our knowledge-based exam to a format that is both secure and accessible to our entire candidate pool. We couldn’t have done it without them.”

Andy McAnulla, President of BTL Surpass added:

‘It’s fantastic that the AGMT Certification Programme has maintained its accreditation after transitioning to remote proctoring. Recent times have had a huge impact on many certification bodies, and we’re seeing many organisations, such as AGMT, take proactive approaches to assessment delivery, to ensure learners can continue their qualifications remotely. The accreditation is a testament to the quality of the programme, and we’re delighted to welcome AGMT to our community.’

Amanda Dainis, CEO of Dainis & Co also commented:

“Being able to assist the AGMT programme through this important process has allowed us to help a great programme remain successful during a necessary transition. The increase in candidate reach and exam flexibility are two small silver linings during these uncertain times.”
