At this year\u2019s Surpass Conference we were treated to a progress report from Gavin Busuttil-Reynaud (AlphaPlus) showing the inspiring results from Computer Adaptive Testing being used in Welsh schools.<br>This, alongside national news reports sharing voices of teachers and students have shown that with the right team in place, testing can be used to positively encourage children to learn, and afford teachers more time to teach! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other highlights from the conference included Alice Niezborala\u2019s live demo of ProctorExam \u2013 remote proctoring software, and Paul Eeles from The Skills and Education Group walking us through a case study involving the MOT assessors\u2019 qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2019 has also been a great year for the assessment industry recognising the achievements of the Surpass Community in award nominations. NCFE CACHE and telc gGmbH were finalists in their respective categories at this year\u2019s e-Assessment Awards, and EAL took home the \u2018Qualification of the Year\u2019 award at the FAB Awards. If there are any more nominations out there that we haven\u2019t mentioned, then please do share them with us so we can help you share the great news!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BTL and the Surpass team have also been celebrating both locally and internationally \u2013 Sonya Whitworth was announced as a Silver Award Winner at the international Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and Patrick Butlin was a finalist for \u2018Apprentice of the Year\u2019 at the Bradford Means Business awards.
