Established in 1985 in Yorkshire, UK, Surpass powers assessments world-wide with its market-leading assessment technology and services. Every year, millions of exams are delivered through Surpass technology, and the company is dedicated to improving the assessment experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surpass through history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a former physics teacher, Dr Bob Gomersall, Founder and Chair of Surpass, has always been passionate about technology and education. He created his first educational software with his brother Bill in the 1970s. Their computerized A Level physics questions, stored on audio cassette tapes, ran on a 4k Commodore PET 2001, one of the very first personal computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1985, the organization went on to develop products including one of the world\u2019s first comprehensive personalized educational CD-ROMs in the 1990s, before becoming a pioneer of online assessment software in the 2000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
